The ICC released their list of match officials for the 2010 World Twenty20 today and revealed that controversial Aussie umpire Daryl Harper has been excluded, despite being a member of the Elite Panel of umpires.

They said his omission was due to "performance issues", but insisted it had nothing to do with the controversy he generated as the TMO on the recent tour to South Africa.

"It will be noted that Daryl Harper, also of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, has not been selected for this event," read an ICC press release. "This decision was taken by the selection panel for a number of general performance reasons.

"It must be categorically stated, however, that none of these reasons is related to his role as third umpire in the fourth Test between South Africa and England in Johannesburg earlier this year."

Yeah. Sure. Right.

The man is a controversy-magnet and if the Snicko Scandal wasn't the last straw, then not much was. He was the only Elite umpire left out of the World Twenty20, fer chrissakes.

The match officials who will be doing duty are as follows:

Umpires

Elite Panel of ICC Umpires

Billy Bowden
Aleem Dar
Steve Davis
Billy Doctrove
Ian Gould
Tony Hill
Rudi Koertzen
Asoka de Silva
Simon Taufel
Asad Rauf

International Panel of ICC Umpires

Marais Erasmus
Shavir Tarapore
Rod Tucker

Match Referees

Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees

Ranjan Madugalle
Alan Hurst
Jeff Crowe

Bit blind for Harper. Could this be the beginning of the end?
